The Price Transparency Rules Have Changed. Don’t Worry, We’ve Got You Covered.

by Ron Wozny, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales Operations

Even with the recent momentum toward price and cost transparency, as a self-funded health plan sponsor, do you know the true value of what you’re paying for? HealthSmart offers transparency resources like no other TPA. Do you know what’s changed and how those changes affect you and your members? HealthSmart keeps up on the latest revisions to federal regulations so when you partner with us, you don’t have to worry about being in the know and being compliant.

The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2020 (CAA) continues the push toward pricing transparency aimed at enabling consumers of health care to be more informed and better prepared to make the best decisions for their health and wellbeing by making cost and coverage information easily available.

Referred to as the “no gag” rule, the CAA forbids hidden contracting terms that disfavor employers and their employees. Thanks to the CAA, employers and employees will become more aware of the full range of pricing and costs, including the hidden fees and incentive agreements among health care providers, vendors, service providers, and others.

Learn more about the CAA and its impacts on you and your members. This new thought leader article walks you through the changes and provides information on the new regulations and on how HealthSmart is here to support you and your members.
